Au cours du Jêma, la fête du rassemblement qui se déroule chaque année au mois d'octobre, une cérémonie religieuse au cours de laquelle est sacrifié un taureau a lieu à Lalesh, le village qui abrite le principal temple yézidi d'Irak. Les membres des clans qui offrent l'animal en sacrifice tentent ici de le rassurer en le caressant.
