Bavian, site archéologique néo assyrien au bord de la rivière Gomel, a été découvert par les archéologues du XIXe siècle. Il est connu aujourd'hui sous le nom de Khenis, ou Khinnis. Situé au Kurdistan d'Irak, c'est l'oeuvre du roi Sennachérib, fils de Sargon II, et fait partie d'un vaste système d'irrigation destiné à alimenter Ninive en eau.
Bavian, a Neo-Assyrian archaeological site on the banks of the Gomel River, was discovered by nineteenth century archaeologists. He is known today as Khenis, or Khinnis. Located in Kurdistan of Iraq, it is the work of King Sennacherib, son of Sargon II, and is part of a vast irrigation system intended to supply Nineveh with water.
